Olympus Survivors — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 October 2026 · Applies to the game at olympus-survivors.web.app and the Olympus Survivors Android app.

In short: you can play without an account. Your progress is saved only on your device. If you sign in with Google to use the leaderboard, we store a random user ID and the hero name you choose. Ads are shown by Google (AdMob in the Android app, AdSense on the website), which may use your device's advertising ID or cookies and asks for your consent where the law requires it. The PC version shows no ads. We do not sell your data.

1. Who we are

Olympus Survivors (“the game”, “we”) is an independent game. Contact for any privacy question or request: contact@aoe2rms.com.

2. Data stored on your device

Your game progress (drachmas, unlocks, achievements, settings, best runs) is saved in your browser's or app's local storage on your own device. It is never sent to us. Clearing the app's data or your browser storage deletes it.

3. Account and leaderboard (optional)

Signing in is optional and only needed to post scores to the online leaderboard (“Hall of Heroes”).

4. Advertising (Android app and website)

The Android app shows ads through Google AdMob, and the website through Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads): optional rewarded ads (for example “watch an ad to revive”) and an occasional full-screen ad between runs, never in the middle of a fight. The PC version shows no ads.

5. Services we use

Firebase HostingGoogleServes the website (standard web server logs such as IP address are processed by Google).
Firebase AuthenticationGoogleOptional Google sign-in.
Cloud FirestoreGoogleStores hero names, leaderboard entries and cloud saves.
Google AdMob + User Messaging PlatformGoogleAds and consent (Android app).
Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads) + Privacy & messagingGoogleAds and consent (website).

We do not use analytics or tracking of our own, and we do not sell or rent personal data.

5b. Online co-op

Online co-op connects the players' devices directly (peer-to-peer, WebRTC). To set up the connection, technical connection details (including IP addresses) are briefly stored in Cloud Firestore under a random 6-letter game code and deleted as soon as the players are connected. During the game, players' devices exchange game data directly, so the other players' devices can see your IP address. If the devices can't connect directly (for example on mobile data), the game data is instead passed through the game's Firebase Realtime Database (Google, servers in Belgium) under the same game code; only game state (positions, monsters, choices) is sent, and it is deleted when the game ends. Your in-game name is shown to the other players.

6. How long we keep data

Your hero name, cloud save and leaderboard entries are kept until you delete your account. Local game progress stays on your device until you remove it.

7. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time:

Data held by Google for advertising is managed by Google; see section 4.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data-protection authority. To use these rights, contact us at the address above. The legal basis for leaderboard data is your consent (posting is your choice) and our legitimate interest in running the game; for personalised ads it is your consent.

9. Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
